Jason Pierre-Paul addressed his fireworks mishap publicly for the first time on Sunday – more than a month after the accident took place.

This social media thawing could represent a coming-out party of sorts for JPP, who has yet to sign his franchise tender of $14.8 million and, as a result, has stayed away from the Giants all summer. “No guy can judicial judge me accepted God himself”.

Two minutes later, he added this: “My bad except lost a finger LOL”.

Even though there’s been disconnect between Pierre-Paul and the Giants this offseason, there’s no doubt the team needs him if it wants to make a playoff run.

“What happened to me was not a set back”, he wrote on his verified account.

One day earlier, JPP also had an Instagram post about a 5-year-old girl who threw out the first pitch at a Baltimore Orioles game using her robotic hand. For a while, he hadn’t even been in communication with the Giants, though in recent weeks he has opened those lines a little bit.

Sources familiar with Pierre-Paul’s thinking said Wednesday that there’s been no change in his plans for his recovery or any movement on plans to return to the Giants.

He had a finger amputated.

No one knows whether Jason Pierre-Paul will be able to play football like he once did without his right index finger.

It’s possible the world will get another look at him later on Saturday.
