Jason Richardson: Latest News, Rumors and Speculation Surrounding Free-Agent SG

Although Jason Richardson seemed unlikely to be wearing a Sixers uniform during the 2015-16 National Basketball Association season, the veteran shooting guard is officially moving on with another team.

His 2014-15 season did not begin until February 20, as he was recovering from a left knee injury suffered at the end of the 2012-13 season.

The Atlanta Hawks are signing veteran guard Jason Richardson to a non-guaranteed deal, according to a report.

Atlanta’s got a bit of a logjam at the 2 with Kyle Korver, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Justin Holiday all under contract, but a resurgent showing in training camp could put Richardson on the Hawks’ radar when final cuts approach.

Richardson, 34, averaged 9.1 points and 3.5 rebounds in a little less than 22 minutes per game in 19 contests last season with the Philadelphia 76ers. He would later join the then-Charlotte Bobcats, Phoenix Suns, Orlando Magic, and most recently, the Sixers. For his career Richardson has scored 17.1 points per game and knocked down 37 percent of his three-pointers.

Richardson, 34, was selected by the Golden State Warriors with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2001 NBA draft after winning a National Championship with the Spartans and helping lead them back to the Final Four.
