Statham, who was in Los Angeles on Monday to attend the premiere of his new movie, Mechanic: Resurrection, has spent much of the last month watching the Rio Olympics, where Britain finished second in the medals table, with 67 won over the two weeks of action, of which 27 were golds.

The actor actually represented England in Auckland at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in New Zealand. Once I was in my mid-20s and had achieved some degree of security, I started looking for something more substantive to focus on.

“I just heard they got seven million or something for the diving per year”. These two live a beautiful love story for six years now and we want them to continue on this path. It probably wasn’t my thing.

“It’s not appropriate”, she said. I am a mom to them at home and they don’t like it when I break out in song and dance as it embarrasses them but I think that’s really good.

Mechanic: Resurrection is the sequel to 2011 movie The Mechanic – a remake of the 1972 film of the same name. He turned himself into this action star.
