Jay Leno Crashed Jimmy Fallon’s Monologue
When Fallon faked a hamstring injury mid-monologue, Leno was on hand to “tag in” to joke about the 2016 candidates, Obamacare and just how bad the economy really is. Fans were thrilled when Leno stepped up and shared a few jokes of his own.

Leno left the long-running late night chat show in February 2014 after returning for a controversial second stint. Jay departed the show after hosting for about two decades.
“After that last debate, Marco Rubio being called the best communicator in the Republican party”, the former Tonight Show host deadpanned.
“It’s fun to go out and do stand-up because that’s what I like to do”, he said.
Fallon asked Leno on Tuesday if he’d liked to stick around for the rest of the show, but Leno had other plans.
He added that, if Sanders were elected, he would become the first socialist president “since 2008”. Naturally, Leno had to throw in a big of banter about GOP frontrunner Donald Trump as well.
Leno made the surprise appearance after Fallon “pulled a hammy” and had to tap out.
Leno hosted the Tonight Show from 1992 to 2009, and then again from 2010 until Jimmy Fallon took over in 2014.
Despite the celebrities sprinkled into each episode, Leno said, the show isn’t designed as a star vehicle.
In his explanation of why Kimmel gave Leno “the shiv” as he put it, Stern said that Kimmel loved David Letterman and didn’t like when Leno lotted against him. Or rather, came out to tell semi-outdated monologue jokes (How about that Osama Bin Laden, folks?) as most people cheered and one guy in the back gently booed. “He said Jay is putting his enormous chin where it doesn’t belong”. But of course, here at the ‘Tonight Show, ‘ the monologue has to go on. The move comes as Jay Leno is preparing to air a brand new series for the NBC Universal Family.
