Jayalalithaa’s demise has left a huge void in Indian politics:PM
Jayalalitha was admitted in the Apollo Hospitals on September 22, 2016 with High Fever and Dehydration and respiratory infection.

In his condolence message, Jung said: “She was one of the greatest political leaders of contemporary India and was a source of inspiration to many”. But this led to complications and finally she suffered cardiac arrest Sunday evening. She faced troubles and ordeals throughout her life but she overcame. Following her demise, Ms Jayalalithaa’s body was taken to her Poes Garden residence before being taken to Rajaji Hall.
Natarajan also collected the national flag that was used to drape Jayalalithaa’s casket. Jayalalithaa was popular called “Amma” aka mother.The funeral is scheduled for 4:30 pm.
He said the way Jayalalithaa emerged as the political heir to late M G Ramachandran from being an actress was “inspirational”. Some had even tried to break open the barricade and fences.
President of India, Pranab Mukherjee was to arrive Chennai but returned due to a technical problem. He will take another flight to attend the funeral.
Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala are also expected to visit Chennai. She believed it was lucky for her. “She always thought about the interest of Tamil Nadu”, Naidu said. In Chennai, newly appointed and trainee security officers were also put on duty to ensure a peaceful state of affairs following Jayalalithaa’s death.
Every corner in the country is moaning over Jayalalitha’s death. It is a relief for the administration. Violent protests had broken out in the region and 16 people had reportedly committed suicide to protest her imprisonment.

Some men and women, their hands folded, had offered silent prayers for Jayalalithaa’s early recovery.
