The sale is part of the “Get Your Penney’s Worth” campaign that will last through the end of the year, taking place on select days.

J.C. Penney is hoping for a rebound by offering the deep discounts. Some items will include “buy one, get one for a penny” while others will simply go for 1 cent by themselves.

Don’t think you can get much for a penny?

Finding a penny might not just mean good luck. CEO Marvin R. Ellison said the company’s focus on private brands, omnichannel and revenue per customer is resonating in the market. If JCP.com does still charge shipping fees on the items priced one penny, folks who don’t want to pay for shipping can still try their hands at getting one penny priced stuff at their local brick and mortar J.C. Penney stores. “In order to encourage trial, and introduce more customers to the quality and style associated with brands such as Arizona and JCPenney Home, we are hosting a unique promotional event called Penney Days”. JCPenney executives say the sale is a strategy to show customers that their store features great deals. “If JCPenney can help her discover the things she loves more easily, innovatively and consistently than anyone else, we know she’ll come back for more”. We will be checking the online store to see which Arizona Brand items are eligible for a penny.
