Jeb Bush: ‘Anchor Babies’ Is Not Offensive

After all, a Bush loss in New Hampshire would batter his presidential chances. They want a fireball. This morning, Jeb Bush trying to put an end to the summer of Trump. Trump told me he’s prepared to counter Bush’s ad buy with “whatever it takes”. The child, this line of thought goes, “anchors” a family in the United States and allows them to gain citizenship. But Trump-mania seems to have caught on here, too.

Bush’s record governing Florida for eight years beginning in 1999 holds potential appeal for tea party activists, Phillips said.

Jeb Bush is not apologizing. Now slipping in the polls, Bush abruptly changed course over the last 24 hours, following some Republican competitors who acknowledge Trump has become a serious threat that must be dealt with head on.

But if passion is the marker on how these two men will ultimately be judged, Bush might do well to raise the volume a few notches.

“You know what is happening to Jeb’s crowd right down the street?” he asked his own crowd. Bush is no Trump when it comes to espousing policies that hurt immigrants just to pander to voters. Cruz has regional strength in Texas and Louisiana, which could translate into his picking up Perry and Jindal supporters.

As Trump tweeted, the former Florida governor is indeed affiliated with a group that has advised Republicans to stay away from the derogatory term for American babies born to undocumented immigrants. “I didn’t use it as my own language”, Bush said. I used a vile term that I’ve heard others use, and I shouldn’t have.

“No, I don’t. I don’t regret it”, said Bush. “But now we need leadership”, Bush said. Bush was expected to discuss foreign policy, including his plan for combating Islamic militants. This is made especially hard when those voters have several appealing options to choose from.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who expanded Medicaid under Obamacare for 500,000 working poor, was not invited to the summit.

“I’m not enthused about Jeb”.

“You said that you have a big heart, and that you’re not mean-spirited”, a reporter said. “He thinks Jeb and his wife, Columba, are close with Carlos Slim and Univision got pressure from Slim operatives”.

“Ultimately, they are people. I think what you’ll find is you’ll have forgotten what exists in August, whatever it is – 20th”.

Jamie Burnett, who also advised Romney’s 2008 bid and is now backing Bush, tells the Post “he’s engaging the voters”.

Polly Gagnon, a retired bank secretary, said she preferred Rick Santorum and Scott Walker. “He’s so much better in real life than he is on a television screen”. If Trump sweeps the early states, or even just wins Iowa and South Carolina, these advisers believe he could effectively lock down the Republican nomination by sweeping the SEC primary on March 1st. And right now, he’s trailing Trump there by 13.5 points, according to the RealClearPolitics rolling average of polls. Trump, who had been on O’Reilly the night before, completed the cycle by calling in to “Morning Joe” yesterday morning (and telling Mika he’d pay her more than Scarborough).

The danger here for establishmentarians is that there are so many social-con candidates hoping to make a splash on March 1st that they could carve up the right-wing vote among them, leaving the leading moderate with a clear path to victory. “They’re sleeping!” Trump said to applause.
