Jeb Bush publishes one-word tweet with photo of a gun

During a campaign event in South Carolina, Jeb suggested, “It’s all decided”.

Right to Rise, the super-PAC supporting Jeb Bush’s presidential bid, dumped almost $1.1 million into SC over the last 48 hours, according to new election reports.

It looks like an attempt to show that Germans value America’s long history of constitutional democracy more than the nation’s – to Europeans – puzzling attachment to machines that put small pieces of metal into other people very fast.

Bush posted a one-word tweet with a photo of a gun on Tuesday afternoon, quickly garnering more than 16,000 retweets and more than 16,000 “likes” by Tuesday night.

“As governor, I earned an A+ rating from the NRA by signing 6 pro-gun and hunting bills in one year-a record for Florida”.

Bush’s photo prompted a wave of tweets mocking him, with even United States whistleblower Edward Snowden jumping into the fray.

The tweet did cause a consternation among plenty of people already opposed to gun rights, but … those aren’t the people Jeb Bush needs to reach.

“If Hillary Clinton gets the four Supreme Court justices, the Second Amendment won’t exist”, Bush said Monday.

The semiautomatic pistol was a gift from FN Manufacturing, a small firearms production factory in SC where Bush visited while on the campaign trail.

To which conservative pundit Charles C.W. Cooke with the National Review replied simply with the now-famous image of President Obama shooting clays taken in August 2012, just three months before his reelection to a second term.
