Jeb Bush to File for Primary in N.H

After filing, Jeb Bush was asked to reflect on his family’s legacy with the primary.

But public opinion is not with her. The same Bloomberg poll released this week showed that 53 percent of Americans and 69 percent of Republicans opposed accepting any Syrian refugees at all.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump will make his third trip to Florida in recent weeks as he looks to challenge fellow candidates former Gov. Jeb Bush and Sen. “It causes people to support barring Syrian refugees”.

George W. Bush and his advisers were trying to tamp down anti-Muslim backlash in the United States and to counter a narrative from the terrorists themselves – that Islam and the West were at war.

Meanwhile, back in Washington, the House passed the “American SAFE Act” by a veto-proof majority of 289 – including 47 Democrats – to 137. Democratic senators have vowed to block the bill, which critics say would stop the US from taking in refugees entirely, and the White House said it would veto the measure.

Bush was interviewed just hours after Trump called for a national database of Muslims, saying he “would certainly implement that”. But we’ll assume that the problem is simply that the Times has worse copy editors than we do and that the paper meant “would” you kill baby Hitler, if it were possible. “I wouldn’t pre-judge it, I wouldn’t put conditions on it, I wouldn’t say, ‘well we can’t have no civilian casualties, ‘ which is the current policy”.

Cruz called himself “a big fan of Donald Trump’s but I’m not a fan of government registries of American citizens”. The Islamic State militant group, also called ISIS and Daesh, claimed credit for the attacks in Paris, setting off a wave of backlash against Syrian refugees and, in many cases, against Muslims in general.

Just the day before, Bush had offered a plan of his own, laying out his national security strategy post-Paris at The Citadel in SC. Rubio said it was not just about mosques, but any place that inspires attacks against the United States.

Bush said Thursday he would ask his military commanders to give him options for a strategy against ISIS, because “that’s what presidents do”. It was not clear whether Carson realized that Muslims traditionally consider dogs to be unclean and refrain from contact with them.

“It’s unacceptable, and if we have somebody running for president they’re going to be president for all people”, said Rep. Andr Carson, D-Indiana, one of two Muslim members of Congress. “We can’t have candidates painting a group of people with a broad brush, and that’s exactly what they’re doing”.

“I can hit her … not physically”, he said. “I do know the USA has to lead”. In the 1980 primary, George H.W. Bush filed in person, but as vice president in the 1988 election, he sent his wife, Barbara Bush. His reaction to the refugee crisis has also drawn from this philosophy.

Fourteen years later, that conciliatory tone has changed, most notably among the candidates seeking to succeed Bush as America’s next Republican president. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, likewise, wants a religious test for refugees: We’ll accept the Christians and reject the Muslims.

But since then, Bush has seemed to back off a focus on Christians to focus more on Obama. At an earlier event in New Hampshire on Thursday morning, he cautioned against “going overboard”, noting the USA processes for clearing refugees are “much more extensive” than Europe’s. “If you follow me around in the campaign, I think you’ll get a pretty good sense that I’m all in on this”.
