But Bush’s daughter, Noelle Bush, has stayed far from the world of politics, in part because of her long struggle with addiction.

“Yeah, it is something to consider, because he is very popular”, Bush said, opening the door to the possibility slightly more than he has in the past.

Hunt said she isn’t against gun owner’s rights, and said her husband is a member of the National Rifle Association.

“[Trump] is a buddy of the Clintons”, Bush said. “I honestly believe I’m going to win New Hampshire”.

“Out of the 46 counties in SC, we are eighth in Republican voter strength”, Harvell said.

Emanuel was one of about 250 people who packed into a large hotel space here to attend Bush’s town hall, and when Bush called on him to ask a question, he had one thing in mind. “I’ve been supporting Republicans since Richard Nixon”.

Bush has dramatically ramped up his attacks against the GOP front-runner in recent weeks in hopes of being the candidate that will lead an anti-Trump coalition of voters and surpass his other rivals.

In addition to Rubio and Bush, a number of candidates have ties to Florida.

Bush is hardly a no-name candidate, with 89% name recognition – second only to brand specialist Donald Trump (94%).

“I think when you’re asked about the nuclear triad, and you’re running for president of the United States, you’d better have a good answer”, he said.

“I wouldn’t say it’s crunch time, because the whole primary season is very volatile”.

“I haven’t seen the specifics of it. If he has one, he should engage with Senator Cornyn who is the sponsor of a bill with Democratic support in the Senate to do just that”, said Bush.
