Jeb Goes After Trump in GOP Debate
Asked about border security, Cruz smiled and said he would build a wall and have “Donald pay for it”, a reference to Trump’s wealth and his signature plan to build a wall along the US-Mexican border.

Scarborough’s panel went on to point out that the other candidates were reluctant to confront Trump, to which Scarborough suggested if it were former President George W. Bush facing off against Trump, then things would be much different compared to how Bush’s younger brother, former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-FL), another candidate for the 2016 GOP nomination, is handling Trump.
Those fears likely played prominently in recent surveys, including a Monmouth University poll released Monday showing 41 percent of Republican voters support Trump, his highest position yet in the poll. After this little episode, the debate took a low note as it became a shouting match like you would see in a middle school classroom. “I thought it was very unfair that virtually the entire early portion of the [first] debate was ‘Trump this”. He gets defensive and starts acting in an immature way instead of finding a way of speaking like a mature adult. “Donald, you know, is awesome at the one-liners”. Bush interrupted: “You said on September 30th that ISIS was not a factor”. Leadership, leadership is not, leadership is not about attacking people and discourage discouraging people.
Bush while talking about Donald Trump said, “Donald is great at the one-liners, but he is a chaos candidate and he would be a chaos president”. Donald Trump who has been the man setting the agenda of nearly all the debates thus far was attacked by his fellow Republican presidential hopefuls on his anti-Muslim views.
“Oh yeah, and you’re a tough guy, Bush”, Trump said, noting his falling standing in the polls and his resulting move down to the end of the debate stage.
“With Jeb’s attitude, we will never be great again”, Trump said.
Trump: Will you apologize Jeb? “He’s a very nice person”, he said.
“Someone has convinced you that attacking me is going to help you”, Rubio said that night.
Voicing appreciation for the response he had received on the campaign trail, Trump seemingly ended any further speculation that he might bolt from the Republican Party and run as an independent candidate, which would nearly certainly mean a Democrat would win the White House in the November 8 election. “Our country is out of control”, Trump said.
“He has touched a nerve because people are angry and afraid”, Huckabee said. But candidates Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz refused to bash Trump for his controversial proposal, focusing their criticism on President Barack Obama and accusing him of failing to keep the United States safe.
“This is so easy to answer”, Trump told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, explaining, “we should be using the most brilliant minds” in the U.S.to “penetrate the Internet”.
