Bloomington Police, the State Patrol and airport police arrested 13 protesters, citing pending charges for trespassing, disorderly conduct, failure to obey lawful order, unlawful assembly and obstruction of the legal process with force.

A Black Lives Matter activist says the Mall of America was used as “a decoy” to start a protest that quickly moved to Minneapolis-St.
Police said it was an “unauthorised demonstration” and at one point described the situation as “very, very dangerous”.
Jamar Clark, 24, was shot dead last month by Minneapolis officers responding to an assault complaint, where Clark was the suspect in the assault case and interfering with emergency workers. He stated that the release of videos of the Clark shooting collected by police would have to wait until the investigation into the shooting is complete.
Protesters gathering outside the mall before the protest began chanted: “What do we want? Because we will drag you out of that office for justice”.
Hundreds of protesters shut down stores, light-rail trains and traffic to the airport Wednesday afternoon, creating a rolling wave of disruption on one of the busiest travel and shopping days of the year.
A judge ruled Tuesday that several local Black Lives Matter organizers cannot demonstrate at the Mall of America on the busy shopping day before Christmas Eve, but she said she couldn’t stop others from… “Now!” Police urged onlookers out of the mall’s central rotunda, threatening arrest. Stores in the mall had to close, and dozens of people were arrested.
Hundreds of people took part in the protest at the mall, one of the largest in North America, where Black Lives Matter organisers promised to congregate in defiance of a judge’s warning that the shopping centre’s owners could legally block the demonstration.
Black Lives Matter Minneapolis said on its Facebook page that at least 10 people were arrested during the course of the day and appealed for donations to pay their bail.
The massive retail center houses an amusement park and more than 500 shops spread across four floors, attracting shoppers from around the globe. However, he allowed the mall to ban three of the leaders of the protest.
The mall had sought a court order blocking the planned protest. Deputy Bloomington Police Chief Denis Otterness declined to discuss any additional security measures the mall may put in place Wednesday.
“Our number one priority is the safety of everybody out at the Mall of America today”, he said Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday, Gov. Mark Dayton said that he “remains sympathetic to the concerns of Black Lives Matter”, but also felt the Hennepin County judge’s ruling had established conclusively that the mall had the right to bar protesters from its property.
