He’ll try to win his fourth series championship at the Homestead-Miami Speedway in his final race.

Jones, of Byron, Mich., also gave Kyle Busch Motorsports its first driver’s championship. “There’s a lot of pressure and expectations, more than anything I have ever experienced – nothing I can relate to”, the quiet-spoken driver said. “I’m sure theirs wasn’t too good after last weekend”. Going into this I understand that there is no amount of words that can sum up the career you have had, and there is no where near enough words on this page to properly thank you for all you have done.

In Busch’s fifth race since his comeback at Charlotte, he won NASCAR’s first road course race of the season at Sonoma. “But at the same time, there’s definitely pressure because we all want it. We all want it really badly”. Over a period of time you go away whether you want to or not.

The favorite, mind you, but not necessarily the champion-in-waiting. As you get later into your years as a person, and I think a lot of athletes probably feel this way, that you realize the opportunity that you were given and that you know others helped you get there.

Adam Stevens, hand-picked by Kyle Busch to become his pit boss, has been on a similar trajectory since his driving career flamed out. He studied mechanical engineering at Ohio University before joining forces with Petty Enterprises in 2002. Gordon was so dominating, he finished in the top 10 in 85 percent of his 33 races (28) with top-five finishes in 79 percent (26).

Truex also has the highest overall driver rating at the 1.5 mile Florida oval of the four remaining competitors based on a formula used by NASCAR.

“We haven’t qualified this year as well as last year”, said Harvick, the 2014 champion. And don’t forget Harvick’s championship-winning victory at Homestead a year ago. Roberts has the honors for NCWTS SETUP leading into all Truck Series races with insight from two-time series champion Todd Bodine and feature reports from Ray Dunlap. But Harvick’s consistency is something to behold: 22 top-five finishes and 27 top-10s, and three other finishes between 11th and 20th.

“I’d describe him as being genuine”, Garone says.

While Busch and Stevens may be only 24 races into their Sprint Cup alliance, Alan Gustafson comes at Sunday’s race with a completely different perspective.

“I just didn’t push the auto hard enough, didn’t realize how much more grip was going to be out there compared to practice, and I just wasn’t aggressive enough”, Gordon said. “Jeff has been a huge part of the sport… and a huge part of our company and our success”.

Busch was the first Chase driver to attempt a third-round lap, setting the third-best overall speed (176.062 mph), behind Hamlin and Joey Logano. Things will have to fall their way to win, though. “It’s been my goal my whole career”. Growing up being a race fan and seeing all the things he has accomplished in this sport has been pretty neat for me.

(Gordon) “If I could have scripted this thing in January or February, I don’t think I could have scripted it quite the way it’s going”. Truex got out of the vehicle and said, “Hey, we got something special now”.

More importantly, Harvick and Childers have performed at their best when it counts the most.

Busch missed the first 11 races of the season due to a crash the day before the Daytona 500 but came back to qualify for the Sprint Cup Chase thanks to four race wins. The 35-year-old Truex, of Mayetta, New Jersey, drives for a one-car operation at Furniture Row Racing in Colorado’s capital, far removed from NASCAR’s North Carolina hub. “That’s not something that any of us had planned or prepared for, and it was such a devastating crash that none of us knew if he was going to recover this year at all, and certainly what state he would come back in”. “I believe in what he does”.
