Jeff Teague living in parents’ basement
All around the country, there are hundreds of thousands if not millions of twenty-somethings forgoing the idea leaving the nest and staying home with their parents instead.

And for all of the stories circulating about how athletes don’t save their money, no one should be critical of a highly paid player who is doing the exact opposite.
Teague, an IN native who was traded during the offseason, plans to move back home to his parents’ basement.
With Jeff Teague’s trade from Atlanta to IN, he has the opportunity to go home. On Monday, a local Fox Sports Radio affiliate secured an interview with the new acquisition, talking with him both about his recruitment out of high school and his plans for living at home after spending seven seasons in Atlanta.
“I bought a home here some years back, and when I re-signed back with Atlanta [in 2013] I just decided I was going to live in Atlanta and just gave the house to my mom and dad”, Teague explained.
Admittedly, it’s not quite his childhood home – he purchased this new home early in his pro career, and gave the house to his parents once he made a decision to live in Atlanta full-time – but it’s still certainly different than the stereotypical National Basketball Association lifestyle. Given that he grew up in the city, the deal worked out well for him because he bought a house in the area a few years back.
Teague later said he will be staying in the basement. But he can’t exactly ask for the house back.

Having said that, we’re looking forward to seeing how he redecorates the basement.
