Jeffrey Dean Morgan to Join “The Walking Dead” Cast as New Villain
After releasing the news that The Walking Dead will be introducing Negan later this season, it seems very possible that ratings will improve as more fans tune in to find out if it’s really a swarm of walkers or a maniac with a baseball bat that kills Glenn.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 PM ET on AMC.
Fans will have to wait to see Morgan’s debut since he is not set to appear in The Walking Dead until the end of the sixth season.
Robert Kirkman, creator of “The Walking Dead”, came up with the character Negan in order to terminate a character that Rick Grimes would not be able to do; that person is Glenn. Did you expect anyone else to be given the role of Negan or is Jeffrey Dean Morgan the flawless man for the job.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who’s starred in “Watchmen”, “Supernatural” and “The Good Wife”, has been tapped to play Negan on the next season of “The Walking Dead”.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the character Negan will arrive in the season-six finale directed by Greg Nicotero. The actor will be a guest star in the finale and will then become a series regular in Season 7.
Negan crosses path with Rick in the landmark 100th issue and has since become the comic’s ultimate villain after he brought Glenn down to his demise by beating the former pizza boy’s head with his barbwire-covered baseball bat he named “Lucille”. In the graphic novels the show is based off, Negan, not a zombie hoard, is actually responsible for Glenn’s death. The difference between Glenn’s death in the AMC series versus the books supports the theories that he is, in fact, not dead.

“That’s one of those questions that any way that I answer could spoil five different parts of the story”, Gimple said. “But I hope to show you”. We will be showing it. We will be showing it. You will be learning the answer to that question as you watch. “They are both very keenly aware of the threat that’s outside the walls and they’re taking a very proactive approach to taking down that threat as much as they can so you’ll see a lot of Maggie and Aaron this season”.
