The torch is the first major piece of Jenner memorabilia to go to auction since the victor of the 1976 Olympic decathlon became arguably the most famous transgender person in the world.

Seven went to individuals and 42 to local organizations. The pre-Civil War card will be sold at auction on July 30, at the National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago.
“Other than trinkets and signed memorabilia, this is the first piece of what I would consider significant Jenner memorabilia to reach the auction block”. A 1984 interview revealed that despite disliking running, Jenner participated in the Olympics because of her impression of how Los Angeles had handled the event.
At age 34, eight years after he won the gold in Montreal, Jenner carried the flame across the Nevada border into California and handed it off, according to Chris Ivy, Heritage’s director of sports auctions. “She gave it to me because no one else wanted it”.
“They secured Bruce Jenner, at the time, and did a big promotion to raise money for their local charities to the name Caesars Palace out there”, Ivy said.
