Fassbender read the part of The Dude (originally played by Jeff Bridges), while Lawrence took on Julianne Moore’s role as Maude, reported Variety.
Fassbender walked on stage, to a standing ovation from the audience, wearing shorts and a bathrobe with cigarettes and a White Russian in hand, as mentioned by VF, and delivered a few lines from Kenny Rogers and the First Edition’s “Just Dropped In”.
“I think Fassbender went a little too Method on this one”.

Since the reading was live, the chance of a fumble or two was always there. Lawrence, who had been assigned the part of Jeffrey Lebowski’s daughter Maude and seemed equally confused when Munn said her lines. This lead the cast to scramble and restart, laughing and talking over one another with Munn passing pages to Lawrence and Oswalt… Patton Oswalt played Walter (John Goodman), Olivia Munn was Bunny (Tara Reid) and Dennis Quaid made a surprise appearance as the Big Lebowski (David Huddleston). The readings of certain scripts have proven so popular that Reitman has restaged them with entirely new casts, and this marks the second time he put on The Big Lebowski, with Seth Rogen having previously taken on the role of The Dude.
