Jennifer Lawrence reprises her role as the defiant Katniss Everdeen in the movie, now the face of a mass rebellion planning all-out war against President Snow who runs the autocratic Capitol.
Lawrence recently made the headlines for sparking up a national conversation about gender pay inequality in Hollywood after penning an essay for Lena Dunham’s Lenny newsletter, titled “Why Do I Make Less Than My Male Co Stars?”
She said: “I try to keep working so people can see other characters and other things I can do, instead of taking vacation time, and now I’m ageing like a president. We’re very familiar with each other’s screams”, Johanna scoffs to Katniss, but you can certainly hear the pain of remembering what happened to her behind her sarcastic tone.
“I didn’t really feel that I said goodbye to her”, Lawrence noted of Katniss.
Jennifer has adored playing Katniss but admits she found her alter ego’s slow transformation to a revolutionary hard to portray because she wanted her to always be a “warrior”. “I wanted her to want to be a leader”.
To which Lawrence responded, “If a woman speaks up and is assertive and has a voice, she’s going to be called a brat”. He said, “I thought it was incredible”.
“Relatable” is definitely an understatement, as 25-year-old banked $53 million pre-tax over the course of a year, stated a report.
Her essay came just a few months after the Sony hack revealed that she had been paid much lesser than her co-stars from American Hustle.
“I didn’t get mad at Sony”.
“I think that people are built the way that they’re built”, she said.
Lawrence quickly added, “Then I kicked him in the temple and gave him a concussion”.
Fiat Chrysler Chief Marketing Officer Olivier Francois’s statement about the marketing collaboration reads: “Our collaboration with “The Hunger Games” and Lionsgate is a great example of what can be done that’s unexpected”.
Though this good-bye is sad, Lawrence maintained her trademark sense of humor during both press stops.
