Forbes released their 2015 World’s Highest Paid Actresses List. Last year, Lawrence and Amy Adams have been reported to have lesser profits than their male counterparts for the movie “American Hustle“.
Last year’s No. 1 actress, Sandra Bullock, made only $8 million after bringing in $51 million the year before, according to Reuters. For the first year ever, Jennifer Lawrence was sitting right at the top! Also, only four actresses made it to the $20 million bracket while there were 21 actors who made it to this amount.
Scarlett Johansson, powered by her superhero turn in “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, landed second on the list with $35.5 million. The rest of the top earners are Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie, Reese Witherspoon and Anne Hathaway. While the 33-year old actress may not have a lot of name recognition in the U.S. – she is also a newcomer to the Forbes list -Fan is a legitimate superstar in her home country. The actress topped Forbes’ China Celebrity 100 list in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Lawrence really began her acting career in 2007 with a role in The Bill Engvall Show which opened many doors for the young actress as she then appeared in two independent series including The Burning Pain in 2008 and Winter’s Bone in 2010.
Many actresses have recently spoken out about sexism in Hollywood – and that’s exactly what this is: by paying women less than men in any career field, we’re telling women that their contributions are not almost as important or valuable as men.

The Oscar victor is set to star alongside “Guardians of the Galaxy” actor Chris Pratt, who reportedly negotiated a $12 million deal with Sony Pictures for the project. Melissa McCarthy – US$23 million 4. “The problem is the averaged don’t work because there are not enough parts for women to star in for them to get paid”. That’s a tidy sum, to be sure, but it’s sadly $660 million less than the 34 world’s highest-paid actors.
