Everyone has been watching out for American Music Awards every year as entertainment’s hottest artists gather for this memorable awards night.

It hardly mattered that her presence and oft-questionable dance moves were missing from this year’s affair.

Aside from leaving the whole world in awe with her medley performance, Jennifer Lopez made her hosting job in the 2015 American Music Awards phenomenal by wearing a whopping 10 outfits all in all, Elle reported.

Minaj took home two honors at the awards show, including Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and the Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album award for “The Pinkprint”.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” opens December 18th. The Weeknd followed suit with favorite male soul/R&B artist and favorite album in the same category for “Beauty Behind the Madness”.

The evening was wrapped up with an emotional performance sung in the French by Celine Dion, whose performance showcased recovery pictures of the recent Paris attack. Her on/off boyfriend Justin. meanwhile upset a lot of Kurt Cobain fans on Twitter when he arrived on the red carpet wearing a Nirvana shirt. Florida Georgia Line won for Favorite Country Album and Favorite Country Group.

There was plenty of dramatic imagery, as blazing orange flames backed The Weekend, and Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth put forth their best acting skills at the close of their duet “Marvin Gaye”.

Queen of trophies, Taylor Swift happened to be out of the country, but managed to still scrape by as the top nominee with six to her name.

Yet too many other acts seemed deflated by the pressure to deliver something noteworthy, none more than the usually effervescent Gwen Stefani, who looked miserable – more miserable than she meant to, that is – in “Used to Love You”, her gloomy new ballad about her breakup with her husband, Gavin Rossdale. Little did he know, he would be taking the stage again later to accept his second AMA – for Favorite R&B/Soul Artist.

Let’s be real; Nicki Minaj has contributed as much to popular culture, if not more, as numerous white artists she’s up against, and that’s not OK. She and all of her female dancers wore skintight nude bodysuits decorated to look like tribal tattoos, while the men wore tribal tattoo tops tucked into jeans.
