The first ever “American Idol” victor returned home on Thursday night (Feb. 25).
Clarkson, who is pregnant with her second child and quickly nearing her due date, opened up about the song during the show, telling host Ryan Seacrest, “I actually wrote it pregnant with my little girl and now I’m pregnant with my little boy”.
#IdolTonight with @kelly_clarkson, @KeithUrban ‘s face sums it up.
This is why we love you.
The song also brought tears to the eyes of Idol frontrunner, La’Porsha Renae, who Clarkson prematurely declared the victor of the singing competition’s final season after her show-stopping performance of Rihanna’s “Diamonds”.
In addition the original “Idol” winner’s characteristically strong vocals, the performance featured a legitimate showing of emotion from the powerhouse artist. “You’re gonna win. If you don’t win, I don’t understand”. I think she knows exactly what this is all about.
“(She’s) the one I’ve been looking for and the one I’ve been preparing for, or life has been preparing me for, anyway”, he told The Boot.
