Jeremy Clarkson gets MORE Twitter mentions than Chris Evans during first episode

Buried among the many, many, changes that have occurred with the latest Top Gear series was news that the old show’s Star in a Reasonably Priced Car segment that saw celebrities zipping around the Top Gear test track would be replaced by a competition involving a rallycross course.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Matt came across really well, he can drive and certainly knows his motors”.

“One viewer tweeted: “@MattLeBlanc and @chrisevans need to swap places on #TopGear with the presenting.

We got our first taste this week of the new “Top Gear” hosted by Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc, and it left us with the deep sadness that the original three-Clarkson, Hammond, and May-would never be played in by the Allman Brothers’ “Jessica” again. “Obviously as these are THE ACTUAL FACTS, they’ll continue to ignore them”.

Despite Matt’s success on the show, his fellow presenter Chris earned less than rave reviews, with many viewers describing him as “shouty and annoying”. While another added: “Watching the new #TopGear”. Matt LeBlanc is given a few cliched sentences, but he is overwhelmed by Evans’ constant nattering.

Evans has since defended the show by hitting back at the “haters” with a string of figures which appear to show that Sunday night’s debut pulled in more viewers than the opening episode of the last series.

But Matt is also in demand across the pond, having recently signed up for CBS comedy “I’m Not Your Friend“, which he will also produce.
