Jeremy Corbyn promises 100000 new jobs in the North East
Labour leadership hopeful Owen Smith today pledged to build 70,000 new homes a year in London to help tackle the housing crisis.

There has already been concern about the initial date of the leadership announcement falling on September 24; the same day as the annual Labour Women’s Conference.
As reported by the Reuters news agency, Corbyn now faces a leadership challenge from lawmaker Owen Smith who, like most of his colleagues in the party’s contingent in parliament, says Corbyn was lacklustre in campaigning to stay in the European Union and too poorly organised to effectively oppose the Conservative government. McDonnell said, “There is no way I am ever going to allow this party to split”.
Labour was set to appeal the ruling on Thursday of this week.
“The reason I would be able to do that is they know that I would be able to lead them effectively against the Tories”.
“When you go out into the country, ordinary party members will tell you Jeremy has made them believe in politics again”.
The party ruled that only members of at least six months’ standing could vote.
Ballot papers for the leadership election will be sent out in the post (Labour Party members only) and by email from the week starting Monday, August 22.
She stressed that there were strict rules about proscribed organisations and they should be upheld.
The case will be heard by Lord Justice Beatson, sitting with Lady Justice Macur and Lord Justice Sales.
One of the new members, Rhea Wolfson, appeared to threaten anti-Corbyn MPs with mandatory reselection to address the “important disconnect” between the parliamentary party and rank and file members.
Mr Coleman urged attendees at the meeting to watch the fly-on-the-wall Vice News documentary, Corbyn The Outsider, in order to understand the chaos in Mr Corbyn’s camp.
It certainly got a rise out of the Labour leader, who said Smith’s accusations could only come from a “mind reader”. The ideal revenge for Corbynites after a likely re-election for their leader would be to try to deselect Corbyn’s most vocal opponents, using the boundary changes as a trigger.
“Anti-Semitism has no part in a progressive party”.
‘Surely that has to be the right decision, ‘ he said.
Most bookmakers placed Smith’s odds at an average of 5/1 last week, but in the wake of Miliband’s backing, those odds have lengthened to an average of 7/1 – just a 12% chance.
This is also the second time a candidate for the upcoming Labour leadership election has visited Milton Keynes, with challenger Owen Smith holding a public discussion at the Open University.
Mr Corbyn opposed the expulsions at the time and has often shared platforms with Trotskyists and others to the left of the Labour Party.
“But there is no denying that tightly-organised factions are also organising within Momentum and the party”.

A senior Labour source said: ‘If Labour loses the appeal, the position of Iain McNicol becomes untenable.
