Jeremy Corbyn supporters rally at Princesshay
Solicitors acting on behalf of Jewish Human Rights Watch have made a formal complaint to the Labour Party about Jeremy Corbyn, accusing him of “modern anti-Semitism”.

After days of speculation as to whether a challenge will be launched, the former Shadow Business Secretary said she would “resolve this impasse” if Mr Corbyn did not act soon.
Despite the mayhem within the Labour ranks in Westminster, 51% of the party’s members believed Mr Corbyn was doing well, with 48% saying he was doing badly.
“If there is to be a leadership challenge to Jeremy Corbyn, let’s bring that forward, use the democratic process and then our party members will decide who is the leader and the future direction of our party”.
Lord Prescott – who said he did not vote for Mr Corbyn – argued that while the Labour leader had to improve, MPs also had to recognise “the course the party is on” and come together to “avoid a civil war”.
On Friday the Labour Party in Northern Ireland released a statement which it agreed at an executive meeting on Thursday night.
Rhondda MP Mr Bryant, who quit Mr Corbyn’s shadow cabinet last week, told BBC One’s Sunday Politics: “Amongst the membership, I don’t think Jeremy would win a contest, if I’m honest, now”.
Mr Walton, a 39-year-old businessman, also said he felt Angela Eagle, the former shadow business secretary, was the right person to take over. This week I was accused of forcing him to stay in.
And writing on our Facebook page, Pete Occenshaw said: “He won the highest mandate of any political leader in the United Kingdom and has attracted tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of new Labour supporters”.
But shadow chancellor John McDonnell, a close ally of Mr Corbyn, suggested Labour MPs were engaged in “mass hysteria” and needed to “calm down”.
Lord Kinnock added: “I completely support the members of Parliament who voted in the no-confidence motion”.
“And the more vulnerable people are, the more insecure they are, the more they need the Labour Party to exert effectively that kind of pressure”.
He added that, despite constant trash talk of his leadership skills, during his time as top dog Labour had forced the Tory government to drop multiple damaging policies – including tax credits – and won every by-election with a larger majority of the vote.
Some 44% said he should step down now as leader of the Labour Party, according to the study, but 60% said he should lead the party into the next general election.

He said there were now “deep residual doubts” about his ability to lead the party to electoral success.
