Jerry Doyle, ‘Babylon 5’ star dead at 60

“The family of Jerry Doyle is sad to announce Jerry’s passing”, it was confirmed on his official Twitter account.

Babylon 5 actor Jerry Doyle has died aged 60.

Doyle famously appeared on Babylon 5 for all five of its seasons as Chief Warrant Officer Michael Garibaldi.

Fox reports that Clark County coroner John Fudenberg said Thursday that “an autopsy was scheduled, and it will take several weeks and toxicology tests to determine a cause of death”.

Doyle scored his first role on the TV series “Moonlighting”, alongside Bruce Willis and went on to receive credits in other series such as “NYPD Blue”, “JAG”, “Sliders”, “Martial Law” and “Beverly Hills, 90210”. The cause of his death is not yet known.

As of late. Jerry hosted a nationally syndicated radio talk show, The Jerry Doyle Show.

Show producer Brad Silvers noted that Doyle also founded the conservative-Libertarian opinion blog EpicTimes.com.

“He was amusing, and unsafe, and loyal, and a prankster, and a pain in the ass; he was gentle and cynical and hardened and insightful and sometimes as dense as a picket fence…and his passing is a profound loss to everyone who knew him, especially those of us who fought beside him in the trenches of Babylon 5”.

Doyle, a NY native who started out as a corporate jet pilot and stockbroker, shifted careers to pursue acting.

He wrote: “Despite our differences, when Jerry ran for congress as a Republican not long after “Babylon 5″ ended, I donated to his campaign”. America’s Wake-Up Call, was praised by many of his contemporaries.
