Jerry Jones doesn’t want Cowboys ‘circumcising the mosquito’ with Tony Romo
After Tony Romo suffered a back injury last week, the Dallas awarded Prescott the starting job after showcasing his consistency and improvements in the preseason.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed on Monday that Tony Romo will not be placed on short-term IR, which would have made the quarterback ineligible to play until Week 9. Had Romo been put there, he would likely get the designation to return after the first eight weeks of the season.
Meanwhile, Prescott said that he’s excited to be play the starting role for his favorite National Football League team: “I don’t know if it’s ever going to hit me that I’m playing for my favorite team growing up or playing for America’s Team”.
“I think that medicine can fail you when you start really creating these bright lines, and we found that over the years when they say it takes six weeks; it takes this”, Jones said Tuesday on 105.3 The Fan about Romo’s recovery timetable.
“You don’t have to spend a lot of time going over and kind of circumcising the mosquito”, Jones said, leaving the world wondering what in the heck that actually means. “We learned that with (Jason) Witten (and his spleen injury)”. “We will be very liberal in evaluating when it is when he can come back”.
For now, the Cowboys are in the hands of rookie Dak Prescott, with newly signed veteran Mark Sanchez as his backup. In his case, it was supposed to be a length of time and turns out it wasn’t.

Here’s what’s even better about it – it’s not the first time Jones has used the expression.
