Jerry Jones Is Really, Really Happy To Have Tony Romo Back
“Oh, yeah, there’s humor”, said the Cowboys quarterback, who was taking his first snaps since September 20. “They’re a damn good football team”.

“But that’s the way it’s supposed to be”.
Romo, so sayeth the box score, did not part the clouds for the Cowboys on Sunday.
The Cowboys, by virtue of their vaguely disgusting division, still aren’t completely out of the playoff hunt, but Dallas essentially has to win out.
Romo didn’t hit every target.
Ultimately, that’s what happens when Sunday marks the first time Tony Romo and Dez Bryant played a game together since the season opener, their 16-yard scoring connection five seconds into the fourth quarter reminding everyone of just how good they are together, that being their 50th touchdown hookup over the past six seasons.
“As the game wore on, he got more and more comfortable”.
Romo had some shaky moments against Miami, but he was solid overall as he completed 18-of-28 passes for 227 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in his first game since Week 2 of the season.
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo (9) prepares to throw with his left hand as he scrambles in the …
Fortunately, Romo was back in action for the Cowboys yesterday as they took on the Miami Dolphins, and he did exactly what he had to do to lead his team to victory.
I’m familiar with the kind of comments that usually pop up on a post like this one.
After all, Romo was the one who pat Tom Brady on the shoulder this year, after a Cowboys loss to the Patriots, and said: “See you at the Super Bowl”.
Oh, that Jerry. He’s a regular Don Draper.
The Cowboys still face an uphill climb to do what many believe is impossible. Tannehill finished with 188 yards and two TDs.
Dolphins interim coach Dan Campbell blamed the loss on mistakes – especially Miami’s nine penalties for 74 yards. “As far as I’m concerned we still hold the cards”.
“It was a total team effort”.
Terrance Williams caught the first four balls thrown his way for a team-high 79 yards and a touchdown.
“Just seeing the game, having the game slow down, trusting your reactions, trusting your instincts”, Garrett said “The more you play, the more natural it is for you”. Really, they should already have plenty of evidence to the contrary from his Cowboys absence. Romo was not fantastic, he threw for two touchdowns and was intercepted twice but neither pick was really his fault – one came off a tip and the other came when Dez Bryant ran the wrong route.
The prime unifying presence, unmistakably, became Romo who, contrary to social media scuttlebutt, had not ballooned to 300 pounds and could no longer outrun the team mascot.
Romo returned from a fractured clavicle from the IR in Week 11 and he is ready to start again in Week 12 against the Panthers on Thanksgiving.
By the 24-14 score, it was a fairly routine National Football League game.
I could discuss how well Reshad Jones played, but he’s the only player in the secondary that seems to get anything done. The defense shut Miami’s offense down the rest of the way, and Dallas successfully burned off enough clock with determined running and a key pass to Cole Beasley that there was never a chance for the Dolphins to get back in it. Dallas closed out the game on both sides of the ball – something they had not done for over two months. “It was inspirational. He was inspirational”.

Whether he’s able to replicate that on Thursday remains to be seen.
