Jerry Jones pining for Tony Romo, despite Dak Prescott’s impressive play

Dak Prescott did manage to put up some points. Prescott found Bryant twice on third down for 18 and 17 yards then Beasley on a slant for 28 yards to the 5.

From the last game of the 2013 season through the end of last season, Dallas went 1-13 when Romo was unavailable.

Prescott has been everything anyone could’ve asked for in his first two career starts, but Jerry Jones is counting down the days until Tony Romo returns. The Redskins’ defense has allowed 65 points in two games, but the heavy focus is on Cousins’ play.

To be fair, it does seem that Cousins assumed DeSean Jackson was going to run a deeper route on that play, which is why he seems to throw the ball directly at cornerback Ross Cockrell.

The Redskins drop to 0-2.

Cousins has thrown one touchdown and three interceptions so far as the Redskins have stumbled to a winless start. The former is considered one of the best wide receivers in the National Football League, while the latter is considered one of the best cover corner backs around.

There are rumblings, however, that things aren’t so copacetic for the reigning NFC East champs. The Giants are 2-0, with victories over the Dallas Cowboys, and a victory this past Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. After allowing Drew Brees to throw for 511 yards and an NFL-tying seven touchdowns a year ago, NY limited the Saints to 288 yards in a 16-13 win.

Not only are the receivers not catching the ball, but quarterback Kirk Cousins has not been helping his own cause.

OVERREACTION: Super Cam is back.

Prescott was 22 for 30 for 292 yards plus a 6-yard scamper for a touchdown in a 27-23 victory at the Washington Redskins on Sunday.

REALISTIC REACTION: There’s a reason why Newton is reigning NFL MVP, but the 49ers are no Broncos.

Trailing 23-20 with 10:35 remaining in the game, Prescott was handed a flawless chance to panic and lose the game.

OVERREACTION: The Patriots can win with receiver Julian Edelman at quarterback. “You feel like you got put up against a wall and you come out swinging”.

REALISTIC REACTION: They need Tom Brady back ASAP. And part of playing quarterback means becoming the source of headlines after tough starts.

Prior to signing with the Dallas Cowboys as a free agent over the summer, Alfred Morris played for the Washington Redskins. Houston’s defense deserves credit for the win. It won’t be only a problem for Cousins when he needs to think of how he can get a long term deal at the end of this. That came after a less-than-inspiring season-opening performance in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers this past Monday.

OVERREACTION: The Jags are still the Jags.

Montgomery, recalling to Chad Dukes of 106.7 The Fan his time with the Broncos in 2014, used Peyton Manning to explain how, sometimes, “it is easier to pass the ball down [in the red zone] when it’s so condensed”. Giants quarterback Eli Manning has completed seventy-four percent of his passes thus far, and has thrown for almost 600 yards through his first two games.
