It was an old-school match-up that had all the trimmings.

Prescott finished 22 for 30 for 292 yards. He didn’t throw a touchdown, but he did rush for one that ended up being his first professional touchdown. Washington’s defense had moved the ball easily the past two possessions, so having a short field meant a touchdown would be a given. Elliott rushed for 83 yards on 21 carries and one touchdown.
Elliott’s fumble two plays into the next possession – his second of the game – put the unit back on the field. However, that confidence (better be) fading as Dez Bryant lit up the number two corner for 102-yards and 7-recpetions.
“The problem is I don’t feel like we wanted it as much as they did”, Washington cornerback DeAngelo Hall said. Right now in those areas, I don’t know if we’re good enough or if we’ve been good enough.

This is the first times since Weeks 15-16 the Cowboys have had games without consecutive takeaways. Two fell incomplete in the right corner of the endzone. Alfred Morris, who Washington let go this offseason, came in and sealed the game for the Cowboys.
The drive took only nine plays.
The Cowboys protected Prescott by moving him. Instead, the Redskins punted, and the Cowboys quickly drove down and made it 10-0. The teams went back and forth, but the Cowboys went into the half with a lead of 13-10.
Bailey had to do heavier lifting later in the half, when a 31-yard field goal capped a 10-play, 43-yard drive.
The Redskins’ season is already taking a turn for the worse.
Dak Prescott did manage to put up some points.
It was Prescott’s first National Football League touchdown. Play action can only be run if there is a dedication to the run game.
An Elliott fumble led to the Redskins regaining the lead.
Throw in Josh Doctson and Tyler Boyd flashing in Washington and Cincinnati, respectively, and Tennessee’s Tajae Sharpe and New Orleans’ Michael Thomas continuing to excite their coaches, and the early returns are encouraging for the freshman pass-catchers. According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, several players on the Washington offense have begun to complain about the quarterback’s erratic play and lack of decisiveness.
“They had three or four drives in a row where they were really having success”, Garrett said.

The Cowboys used the turnover to regain the lead.
