Jay Cutler (and probably some other quarterbacks) knows the feeling.
“When there is significant change and I feel like that flag represents what it’s supposed to represent and this country is representing people the way it’s supposed to, I’ll stand”, Kaepernick said. There is people being murdered unjustly and not being held accountable.
Hall of Famer Jim Brown said on the TV program “NFL Total Access” that he supports Kaepernick’s stance. Some people KPVI spoke with say they agree with Kaepernick and he’s entitled to his First Amendment right, Freedom of Speech, others say, it’s about the sacrifice military men and women have made for our country.
“When I think about the flag, I think about the greatest ideals of America”. “I mean, we have a presidential candidate who deleted emails and done things illegally and is a presidential candidate”, Kaepernick noted. Nothing would surprise me this week, but add in the team sending him out there (and the potential for injury and his injury guarantees), I just don’t see them cutting him yet.
He concluded by telling the Goodell and York that SFPOA hopes “your organizations choose to do the right thing and at least apologize to the many police officers Mr. Kaepernick has disrespected for no apparent reason”. “I don’t think you can not deny someone the right to speak out or mock or make fun or belittle anybody else’s opinion”. Many better ways exist for Kaepernick to use his stature as a high-profile professional athlete and public figure to make his point and make a difference in this national conversation.
“I commend him for standing up”. In this day and era with social media being about fans who follow our accounts, every individual thinks differently.

“Everybody understands the racial tension that has been going on, “Matthews said. For Colin to do what he did being a quarterback in the National Football League, that’s huge”.
