Jerusalem attacker stabs Israeli soldier with kitchen knife
On Friday, Israeli border guards shot dead a Palestinian woman who tried to ram a auto into them in the West Bank, shortly after a Palestinian was killed in clashes with Israeli forces near the border with the Gaza Strip.

Both victims were apparently soldiers guarding at a gas station in the village, along Route 60, a main north-south West Bank artery used by Palestinians and Israeli settlers alike.
In the past 12 weeks Israeli forces or armed civilians have killed at least 126 Palestinians, 77 of whom authorities described as assailants.
Since mid-September, 20 Israelis have been killed in attacks.
In another attack, earlier in the day, police said a soldier was stabbed and lightly wounded in Jerusalem by a 30-year-old attacker.
That attack took place a few hours before a second attack was narrowly averted in the Old City, according to the spokesman of the Jerusalem District.
‘An initial inquiry suggests an additional soldier was injured as a result of the fire directed towards the attackers, ‘ the military said in a statement. A nearby security guard apprehended the attacker who was then taken into police custody.
Tensions have dramatically escalated since the Israeli regime’s imposition of restrictions in August on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East al-Quds (Jerusalem). In October, Israel began withholding the bodies of suspected attackers as a tactic to crack down on the violence.
A Palestinian stabbed an Israeli soldier with a kitchen knife in Jerusalem today, wounding him moderately before he was arrested, police said.

While the majority of recent attacks have been carried out without the organization of political factions, Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas has not publicly condemned the recent attacks or upsurge in demonstrations. The Palestinians say it is rooted in frustrations stemming from almost five decades of Israeli occupation.
