Jerusalem unrest spills over to West Bank
In the most recent attacks on Friday afternoon, Palestinian assailants allegedly stabbed a youth in Jerusalem and a soldier in the West Bank settlement of Kiryat Arba. The Israel-Gaza border has been mostly quiet since last summer’s conflict but new tension threatens to open back up the wound. Both Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas have called for calm and Palestinian police are continuing to coordinate with Israeli security forces to try to restore order, but there are few signs of the tension and violence dying down.
