The Teen Choice Awards aired Sunday night and from Justin Timberlake’s rousing speech to Jessica Alba’s emotional tribute to gun violence, it had to have been one of the best yet. She got a little too carried away with saying hi to fans and ran right into it. Thanks girl for letting everyone know it’s okay to have fun on stage!

On July 18, the official Twitter account of the TCA’s, urged fans to retweet their tweet ‘in honour of her [Christina Grimmie’s] memory for #ChoiceMusicWebStar’. “I don’t want her attractive face anywhere near that trash show”, added YouTube star Shane Dawson.

“Deplorable how #TeenChoice used Christina Grimmie to gain attention for the show, and didn’t even have the decency of mentioning her ONCE”.

‘While we are glad that Christina finally won her much-deserved Teen Choice Award, we are also definitely disappointed that her name was not mentioned at any point during the two-hour broadcast, ‘ said the source to ET. For fans of Grimmie, however, Fox should have at least mentioned Grimmie during the show’s airing.

“The Voice” contestant was shot and killed by a crazed fan in June while signing autographs after a concert in Orlando, Florida.

A Change.org petition was started following the show, asking the Teen Choice Awards and Fox to formally apologize for “disrespecting Christina Grimmie”. However, that award, which Grimmie won, was not announced on the broadcast, and the singer wasn’t included in a powerful tribute to end gun violence led by Jessica Alba. He continued, “I try to live my life working most closely with, making music with, and spending so much of my time with an incredible group of people-male, female, gay, straight, every walk of life….”
