Jessica Chastain’s ‘Miss Sloane’ Surprises Gun Lobby in Debut Trailer
If the trailer for “Miss Sloane” is anything to go by, two-time Oscar-nominee Jessica Chastain is gunning for a win with latest project. She continues her streak in Miss Sloane, a new film about a take-no-prisoners lobbyist fighting for stricter gun control laws on Capitol Hill.

Miss Sloane teams Chastain with director John Madden, who previously made stuff like Shakespeare in Love, The Debt, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, and an extremely popular line of football video games.
Madden also dished on working with Chastain again with EW, as well as the fact that a woman is at the center of this story.
Chastain plays the “ambitious lobbyist” Elizabeth Sloane, the title character in the movie about restricting the Second Amendment.
In 2013, Jessica Chastain was inches away from receiving her first Academy Award for Zero Dark Thirty, a feat that is still surely merited considering her illustrious career and brilliant performances.
“The first moment I read the script I thought that the role belonged to Jessica”, he says. Now Miss Sloane gives us a protagonist shrouded in moral ambiguity and a strong supporting cast-including Gugu Mbatha-Raw, John Lithgow, and Sam Waterston. From tremendous strength and drive on the one hand and fragility and vulnerability on the other.

Miss Sloane will make its own hard sell to audiences and pundits starting on December 9.
