Jessica Chastain wants to play a Bond villain
“One of my goals is to play a villain in a Bond film”, Chastain toldW magazine. People ask me if I want to be a Bond girl, and I say, ‘No, I want to be the villain.

She played the confused and concerned wife in Take Shelter, a caring mother in The Tree of Life, a tough Central Intelligence Agency analyst in Zero Dark Thirty, and a stressed mission commander in The Martian, but there’s one role she longs to play. “They never worry about ‘knowing” them”.
Chastain also spoke to the magazine about her career goals, including being in Bond – but not how you might think.
The latest James Bond adventure, Spectre, is out in the United Kingdom on October 26. Her makeup look included heavily chiseled cheekbones (thanks to contouring), exaggerated eyebrows that appeared to be painted on and a classic red lip, which might just be the only part of her look we’d be fearless enough to copy. “I’m speaking out as an audience member who is going to the cinema and noticing there’s a problem here because I don’t see women being represented. Or is it? They were probably warriors, too”. She wore a canary yellow strapless gown and recalls that she rarely let go of her costars’ (Sean Penn and Brad Pitt’s) hands all night. For its premiere, which was held at the Palais du Cinéma theater in Cannes back in 2011, Chastain felt overwhelmed so much so that her co-stars had to hold her up. “I would have fainted without them”. I don’t see Asian-American actresses begin represented. That actually would be kind of fantastic.

The idea has been rolling around in Jessica’s head for at least a couple of years, first being reported in 2013 by Comic Book Movie.
