The debut trailer for Marvel and Netflix’s Jessica Jones showcased the titular former superhero-turned-private investigator trapped by the ghosts of her past.

We’re just ten days from the worldwide premiere of Marvel’s Jessica Jones on November 20, and Netflix has released a brand-new extended trailer for the upcoming series featuring a ton of new footage.
Of course, I’m referring to Marvel’s Jessica Jones, which has picked up steam leading up to its release.
The new trailer draws a strong connection between Jessica Jones and Luke Cage (Mike Colter), who will star in his own show sometime next year. “Make it a double”, says the whisky-drinking Jessica (Krysten Ritter) as she steels herself for more Kilgrave mind control, the mysterious figure who emerges from the shadows in the latest clip.
Another interesting touch: Jessica and Luke Cage have a far different relationship than in the comics, where at first they were just hooking up. The cat-and-mouse game between Kilgrave and Jessica looks to be a highlight of the series, and will likely establish him as one of the best and scariest Marvel villains (not that there’s much competition on that front). Jessica Jones is the second.

Even intentionally amusing lines, which could easily seem forced – like Jones saying “pilates” after kicking a man across a room – are so dry that you can feel how jaded the character is.
