Jessica Jones Star to Join Arrow as the Human Target

The more recent Human Target series, on FOX, starred Mark Valley as the title character, and had a two-season run that aired from 2010-2011.

You will know him from another superhero series, Wil Traval has been cast in Arrow for Season 5.

Human Target has been featured in two titular TV shows over the last two decades, both loosely based on the comic book version of the character. The series was a fan favorite but was based only very loosely on the DC Comics character, with the disguise element nearly completely omitted.

The Human Target first appeared in issue #419 of Action Comics way back in 1972 and was created by Len Wein (co-creator of Swamp Thing and Wolverine) and Carmine Infantino (designer of the Barry Allen Flash). “Human Target”, in Episode #505: a professional bodyguard and master of disguise who assumes the identities of those targeted by assassins.

In addition to The Wire star Chad Coleman taking the role of new baddie Tobias Church, alongside flashback villain Dolph Lundgren, wayward vigilantism appears to be a major theme for Arrow Season 5, following the return of Madison McLaughlin as a new Artemis, as well additions of Rick Gonzalez’s Wild Dog, and Josh Segarra’s “Vigilante.” Traval will premiere as Human target in Episode 5, so keep an eye out!
