Webb is the first Cherokee Trail athlete to win a Gatorade player of the year award in any of the 12 sports it is given out in and she is the 27th different Aurora individual to win at least one, joining others in football, volleyball, baseball, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls track & field and boys and girls soccer.

Peterson has signed to play volleyball at the University of San Francisco. Peterson tallied 956 assists, 142 digs, 120 service aces, 95 kills and 22 blocks while posting a. 552 kill percentage and a. 453 hitting percentage. She earned Miss Volleyball honors in Louisiana. A two-time First Team All-State selection, she concluded her prep volleyball career with 1,572 kills and 977 digs.
“She’s one of those that you will probably come across once in your lifetime”, recently-retired Midstate volleyball legend and Father Ryan coach Jinx Cockerham said.
Nuss, who sports a 4.04 GPA, will play beach volleyball via scholarship at LSU upon graduating.
“I’ve yet to meet a more driven and dedicated athlete”, Cherokee Trail head coach Terry Miller said in a statement to Gatorade. The editor of the school newspaper, she has volunteered at South Shore Hospital and has donated her time helping senior citizens understand technology in association with the Teens Teaching Technology initiative.
Hall will begin her junior year of high school in the fall of 2016.
