Jet Airways orders 75 fuel-efficient planes from Boeing
– Among those agreeing new purchases were Boeing and India’s Jet Airways, a partner airline of Abu Dhabi’s Etihad, who signed a deal worth approximately $8billion for 75 new 737 MAX aircraft.

This “supports the airline’s replacement strategy to have the most modern and environmentally progressive airplane fleet”, it said.
The order includes options and purchase rights for an additional 50 aircraft.
Wichita’s Spirit Aerosystems builds the fuselage and other parts for the 737 before shipping them to Renton, Washington for final assembly.
At the 2011 Dubai Airshow, the carrier’s fleet had grown to be home to 23 brand new aircraft and created a network of 46 destinations within five hours flying radius from Dubai.
The B737 MAX is the new fuel-efficient version of Boeing’s popular single-aisle aircraft model, featuring new engines and aerodynamic enhancements created to reduce operating costs and emissions.
In a statement coinciding with the air show, Airbus said the agreement with IAG and its airlines took their cumulative Airbus orders to a total of almost 470 aircraft.
Jet Airways did not disclose the delivery schedule. “We are aligned with the Government of India’s mission to provide affordable air connectivity to the people across the country”.
Many airlines are ordering for delivery so far down the line that future economic and political uncertainties simply can not be anticipated, he said.
