Li has never fought with or against Diesel before on screen, while Jaa did appear in Diesel’s Furious 7 previous year but fought against – and lost to – Paul Walker instead.
According to Twitch Film, two of Asia’s most legendary action stars will fight either alongside or against Diesel, as Jet Li and Tony Jaa are allegedly on board.
Michael Ferris and John Brancato of Terminator Salvation fame are penning the script for xXx 3 – AKA The Return of Xander Cage – and we’ll keep you updated at this story develops.
That news has now been officially confirmed, and she will be with Xander and the good guys. It was previously reported that the Bollywood actress turned down a role offer for the blockbuster hit “Furious 7″-which also starred Vin Diesel-due to her schedule rendering her unavailable to commit to the project”.
Meanwhile, Vin Diesel said he was pleased to be finally returning to the franchise as Xander Cage, an extreme athlete and stuntman recruited by the NSA as a spy, after missing out on the 2005 sequel, “State of the Union”.
It now appears that McGregor isn’t the only martial artist to be joining xXx 3’s cast list.
