Jets have no time to lament loss

The Bengals recognized that the Jets couldn’t stop Green and got him the ball as often as possible. If the Bengals lost though, my opinion would probably be different.

“You have a game in three days so you have to get ready for it”, Bowles said. Taylor has zero touchdown passes in his last three regular season games. When the schedule came out back in April I was even more excited to see the Jets first up in Week 1.

Preceding a quick, three-day turnaround in Buffalo, followed by extremely challenging matchups with the Chiefs, Seahawks, Steelers, and Cardinals, it was imperative that NY tallied a win on their home turf.

Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert was out, still recovering from an ankle injury in the Pro Bowl.

New York Giants 30, New Orleans 20: Everybody who loves football was scratching their heads a year ago at how terrible the Giants’ defense was. “That’s a big part of why we have success”. A loss to the Bengals won’t help them get that monkey off their back, but they were certainly capable of winning the game.

Despite having every reason in the world to smack Ryan around, the Jets came up small each time, much like they did Sunday inside a stadium that was pumped up with pride following a rousing September 11 remembrance ceremony.

It was an impressive debut – Forte was the most productive offensive player on the field. I wouldn’t expect much less, but that was just the beginning.

Fitzpatrick is just 2-7 in nine starts against Ryan and has completed at least 50 percent of his passes just twice in those nine contests. Was it his most stellar game?

I’m not going to make any strong pronouncements about Revis, not based on one game against one of the NFL’s best receivers. Nick Folk and the Jets special teams, I’m looking at you. Moments later, Jets safety Rontez Miles did the same to huge cheers from the MetLife Stadium crowd.

It shouldn’t matter that we’re only entering Week 2. Where’d you get that $10 jersey? “Offense was able to make a play”.

The Bengals defense helped secure the victory with some pressured plays. We fell short, if you want to call it that, [Sunday].

We had water bottle caps thrown at us and adult women and men acting like they were children trying to torment us. Another Arizona punt and New England fumble led to another Cardinals touchdown, this time on a 1-yard run from David Johnson. That was not enjoyable.

The Jets couldn’t ask for a better opponent this week except for the fact that it is the Bills.

Jets fans have been here before.

Now, people are exhausted of hearing about the first six games on the 2016 schedule. Still, on Sunday, the bad outweighed the good when it came to fans of the enemy. Dalton, despite the pass rush, went 23-for-30 for 366 yards with a touchdown and an interception, as compared to New York’s Ryan Fitzpatrick, who was 19-for-35 for 189 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.

It is reasonable to assume that both of these teams would rather not have a nationally-televised game to deal with following distinctly underwhelming opening-day defeats but they – and we – are stuck with it. Bengals QB Andy Dalton became the fourth quarterback in franchise history to start six straight openers, joining Ken Anderson (1972-77), Boomer Esiason (1986-92) and Carson Palmer (2004-10).

It’s never easy to play against Jets defense as they are considered as one of the best defensive teams, but AJ Green proved that he cannot only hang with the best but that he can be dominant against the best.
