Jets’ Ryan Fitzpatrick undergoes thumb surgery
No longer was he their coach.

NY:Rex Ryan slammed his headset to the ground, pumped his fist and revelled in his revenge after the Buffalo Bulls beat his former team the Jets 22-17 in NY on Thursday.
“There’s a bad taste in my mouth, just how it all went”, said Revis to the NY Post.
As the Jets learned on Thursday night, there’s only so much they can overcome. “It just didn’t work out”.
The win for Buffalo pushes them to a 5-4 record, tied with the Jets, while also hurting New York’s playoff hopes.
“That’s something we discussed internally”, Bowles said. “We were close, we were going for the win. It’s as simple as that”.
Ryan and the Bills had a chance to set the tone for chasing the Patriots earlier this season. Despite a gritty second half effort Thursday, the Green & White were left with a bad taste in their mouths after a frustrating 22-17 loss to the Bills at MetLife Stadium.
“I can tell the truth, this thing is kind of like being dumped by a few girl you have the hots for”, Ryan said. “But they can’t get you back”. The Bills punter muffed the snap on the next series, and the Jets had great field position.
Added Decker: “We both got caught up”. He’s trying to release and I probably should’ve given him a little more time and room to release.
NY got the ball back with 24 seconds left at its own 36.
Rex Ryan provided the bleeps, celebrating his big win with easy-to-decipher expletives on the sideline. NY Jets head coach Todd Bowles confirmed this at his Friday morning press conference.
“You went off on me about giving my team the week off, ” he said. The Jets quarterback has 1,983 passing yards this season, and has thrown 15 touchdowns to nine interceptions.
After spending the week downplaying in first return to NY since the Jets fired him back in January, Ryan admitted it was unusual not coaching the guys in green Thursday. Otherwise, the Jets haven’t allowed more than 353 yards in a game. Running back LeSean McCoy (19.30) was the highest-scoring Bill, followed by QB Tyrod Taylor (12.12). The NY Jets had their opportunities, they just couldn’t make the majority, despite forgetting to show up for the first half of the game. To throw to Brandon Marshall behind the line of scrimmage made no sense. That woke up the crowd, and NY forced a three-and-out. NY held them to a field goal which left hope for a comeback.

“It’s pretty satisfying, without question”, Ryan said.
