Jets WR Brandon Marshall impressed by Patriots Super Bowl star Malcolm Butler

Looking to string together their second win streak of the 2015 National Football League season, the (3-3) Oakland Raiders welcome a very risky team in the (4-2) New York Jets. For most of the first five games this season, they embarked on the March of the Midgets, beating up woebegone teams like the Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts, woe-is-me teams like the depleted Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys, and one woefully dysfunctional Buffalo Bills team led by (who else?) Rex Ryan. Looking to get back into the win column, Gang Green will rely heavily on its running game and its defense when it travels out west for Sunday’s encounter in the Black Hole. They were respectful and complimentary, exactly as Belichick instructs them to be.

But reading between the lines tells you they believe they can force Fitzpartrick into a few game-altering interceptions.

Bowles’ stance is the right one, and it certainly was the tack his players took when they spoke to media members immediately after the frustrating defeat. “We knew it was going to be a dogfight and that’s what we came here to do, play in a dogfight-type of game”.

Jeremy Kerley 5-yard touchdown reception, 12:30 to play, second quarter – Kerley’s second touchdown catch this season gave the Jets their first lead at 10-3. We’ve got to get ready for Oakland next week. “We’ve been talking all week – even though a guy is covered doesn’t mean the ball’s not coming”.

The Jets have plenty of time to tighten things up on defense before they see him again. “I tried to get going a little too early without being as warm as I usually am”. “They put a lot on him in terms of running the offense”. However, if one had to narrow it down to two players, it would have to be (defensive end) Muhammad Wilkerson, and, of course, (cornerback) Darrelle Revis.

“Our goal in every game is not to turn it over, to be efficient on offense, third downs, red zone and all that stuff, ” Fitzpatrick said. So we were waiting for the right situation to try to call them. We know that there is probably less margin for error versus a team like this, just because of how talented they are. “I just have to be smart with what I’m doing and where I’m going and … just continue to get those good plays and try to limit the bad ones and do the best I can in doing that”. I was like, ‘Man, this kid can play a little bit.’ I overlooked him when I saw him standing in front of me.
