Three people on two scooters, one of them wearing an Islamic State T-shirt, approached the teacher in the street, Marseilles prosecutor Brice Robin told Reuters.

The victim’s life is not in danger, they added.

The trio fled after stabbing the teacher in the arm and leg.

The three men who assailed the teacher uttered anti-Semitic remarks during the incident, AFP reported. France has been on high alert since the attack, and lawmakers are considering extending the country’s state of emergency for three months. The unidentified male teacher was stabbed in the leg and he is expected to survive.

The teacher filed a complaint with police as he was being treated, and was evacuated to hospital.

It is the second anti-semitic attack in a matter of weeks in Marseille after a recent knife attack on a rabbi.

The alleged attack comes amid heightened fears of terror in France and others places after last Friday’s deadly attacks in Paris, which ISIS has claimed responsibility for.
