“Preliminary investigation does not indicate shots were fired at JFK”, the Port Authority of NY and New Jersey said in a statement released late Sunday.

Kennedy International Airport resumed operations early Monday after thousands were evacuated following a false report of gunshots in one of the terminals, according to local reports.

Port Authority Police spent the day scouring security camera footage and still can find no images or audio that suggest anything like a gunshot occurring Sunday night.

There were no injuries reported. The terminal was evacuated out of an abudance [sic.] of caution. He also said that the televisions above him were tuned to CNN and not the Olympics. According to the news outlet, police said that the airport went into high alert when a woman exiting a plane said she had heard gunshots.

The video shows a group of police officers walking through the terminal with long guns, yelling for people to get down on the floor.

A short time later, police closed the airport’s Terminal 1 after they said they received additional reports of shots fired in that terminal.
