Jill: Isolated showers and storms possible after noon

Noticeable east canyon winds will slowly relax through late morning before picking back up with storm activity by this afternoon.

As we peek into the crystal ball, showers and storms could return as early as the middle of next week.

While the weather on Memorial Day started off attractive in the D.C. area, we could see some showers later in the day.

Before weathering down, Bonnie, the second storm of the season, reached the tropical storm status late Saturday afternoon. Showers will be scattered but an isolated heavy downpour or storm is possible. Temperatures only drop to the mid-60s overnight with a north wind between five to 15 miles per hour. Highs Thursday and Friday will be in the low 90s away from the beaches. And we have trended with higher chances for showers and rain in subsequent forecast updates.

Wednesday will bring a slightly better chance for pop-up storms during the heat of the day as a cold front gets a little closer.

Today: Partly Sunny, Scattered Showers/Storms(30%).

High pressure remains in control of our weather through Wednesday. A cut-off low across Texas Thursday and Friday will require us to keep some precipitation in the forecast through the end of the week. It’s still exactly unclear when Bonnie would make landfall, but Sunday morning or afternoon is a possibility, said CNN meteorologist Jennifer Varian.

T.S. Bonnie will raise our rain chances later today
