Jill & Jessa Duggar’s Tear-Filled Confessions About Josh: ‘We Were Thrown

Second eldest Duggar son, John-David Duggar, shared on the family’s TLC special, Jill & Jessa: Counting On, on Sunday, Dec. 13, that he had a heartbreaking conversation with his big brother, Josh Duggar, following his Ashley Madison cheating scandal this past August. The premiere episode of the highly anticipated docu-series reveals how the Duggar siblings are dealing with the aftermath of the Josh Duggar sexual assault and cheating scandal. The scandalized star is now being treated for his sex and porn addictions at an undisclosed faith-based facility.

We know Josh Duggar’s sex scandal left a wake of pain for his sisters.

“The healing process started shortly after that happened”, Dillard said on the show. Definitely, there was a period of time in our family where Josh was not to be trusted. The scandal led to the cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting in July.

Aside from Jill and Jessa’s kids, Josh Duggar has also seemingly asked Jana to help out his wife, Anna, when it comes to caring for the four kids- (4 months), Marcus (2 years), Michael (4 years) and Mackynzie (6 years). [Image via Counting On/Facebook]Some of the younger members of the Duggars family, Jinger, Joy, and Jana, were exceptionally tearful. Talking about Josh in that situation, Jill says, “Don’t be a hypocrite”, which is probably the harshest thing said about Josh in the entire ninety minutes. “Somebody you love and who you trust”, She said. “[My husband] Derick and I talked about how earlier this year when Jess and I were talking with Megyn Kelly, we wanted to say the truth, and I feel like we did that”, she said.

The episode then took on a lighter note when Jill and Jessa playfully argued over who gained the most weight during their first pregnancy.

Anna was noticeably absent from the Jill & Jessa: Counting On episode. “I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old, and now I have re-broken their trust”. I’ll give the network the benefit of the doubt regarding whether they knew about or suspected Josh’s crimes (because that’s what they were – not “boys will be boys”, not youthful indiscretions, not a private family matter), even though there’s evidence that suggests otherwise.

“Josh ended up confessing to us that he had gotten addicted to pornography and that he had been unfaithful to his wife. But I think there’s going to be a new normal and we’re getting there, slowly but surely”.
