‘Jill not Hill’ Green Party’s Stein seeks Sanders’ backers
The Green Party candidate for president was riding a pickup truck outside the Democratic convention Monday when several of the supporters sitting behind her began chanting vulgar put downs of the Democratic presidential nominee. Stein’s spokeswoman and minder, thinking of the TIME reporter along for the ride, tried to hush the cussing.

This fall, thanks to an overflow of Berned-up angry voters, Stein is poised to do much better. They have said much more than bad things.
I do not say there is no difference between the parties. She doesn’t look like a political renegade or revolutionary. “If the DNC traps him and he can’t go forward – even if he asks us to vote for her – I’m going to have to go on without him”.
“She had about 12 people”, Proctor said. “We are what democracy looks like”, Stein told the cheering crowd. “This politics of fear has actually delivered everything we were afraid of”.
Wiping back tears, Los Angelean Lillian Wilkinson spoke about her lasting allegiance to Sanders – and new interest in Stein – after an emotionally turbulent week. The Vermont Senator is a keen legislator with decades of political experience and a knack for winning elections. For many in the pro-Sanders camp, the emails confirm something many had long suspected: that the Democratic Party actively helped Clinton secure the party’s nomination. She has no experience in elected office besides serving as a small-town council member in Lexington, Massachusetts. “We want change at the top level of the Democratic Party”.
It’s popular among a certain segment of establishment-wary liberals to say that it’s not that vaccines are unsafe, necessarily, but that the Food and Drug Administration oversees them.
Despite polling within the margin of error, the Harvard-educated doctor could have an outsized effect on the election and severely weaken the Clinton’s campaign against Trump. “But you know what, I’m scared of Hillary Clinton too”, anti-war activist and Codepink founder Medea Benjamin said in a speech endorsing Stein. “A vote for Jill is a vote for Jill, not Trump”.
Jill Stein is a physician from the state of MA and she is also the Green Party’s nominee to contest the US Presidential elections this November, her second bid for that office. “If Clinton can’t hold her own against Stein, that’s her problem”. “The floodgates opened”, Stein says. “They’re not enough to save your life”. Instead, she says it’s up to the people of Israel and Palestine to decide on the solution, while Americans can aid the local groups working on these issues. In 2016, however, Texas Democrats are fielding candidates for every statewide office, and unless a statewide Green Party candidate wins at least 5 percent of the vote in one of the eight statewide races, the party would need to undertake a very hard ballot access campaign in 2018. They weren’t protecting her from antagonizers; they were simply making sure she could move. Among other things, she has called for 100% renewable energy by 2030, cutting military spending by 50%, replacing NAFTA and other free trade agreements, free college tuition and student debt cancelation, Medicare for all and ending combat operations against ISIS.
Stein’s warning about corporate influence in the vaccine approval process is often voiced by “anti-vaxxers”. “I would feel terrible if Trump gets elected, and awful if Clinton gets elected”, Stein says tells me.
-Stein supports the Black Lives Matter movement, and an end to police brutality and mass incarceration. I ended up directly in front of her – she was touching me, bumping into me as she walked backward. “We need more representation in this country and you can not get that in the two-party system”.
Erica Chatlin, one of the few Clinton supporters at the week’s protests, told MintPress that she came to City Hall to speak with Sanders backers in the hopes of building bridges across a political divide that’s grown increasingly tense throughout the convention.
She was met a wide array of voters there who promised to support her over Clinton.
Speaking during a live Periscope after Bernie Sanders’ speech, one of his delegates from New Mexico said she is now backing Stein over Sanders, while another is still undecided and will consider backing the Green Party. The rumor stemmed from an 11 May 2016 Reddit AMA (“Ask Me Anything”) hosted by Stein, in which she fielded questions from site users.
For Stein and many of her supporters, the coming election is not just a choice, it is a test. Fight for the greater good!: Don’t let them tell you for a minute that we are an irrelevant footnote! Lest we forget her compromise – a big shuffle to the left.
This year Dr. Jill Stein is leading the Green Party ticket for president.

In a nutshell, the Green Party is the one national party that does not accept corporate money, lobbyist money, or have a superPAC.
