Jim Carrey Sued for Wrongful Death by Ex-Girlfriend’s Husband
The wrongful death case, which was filed in Los Angeles, CA on September 19, states, “This is a case about Jim Carrey using his vast wealth and celebrity status to illegally obtain and distribute highly addictive and, in this case, deadly, controlled substances”. The suit claims all 3 drugs were found in pill bottles bearing the name Arthur King. the pseudonym for Jim.

According to celebrity gossip site Radar Online, the suit claims Carrey used his status and celebrity to obtain the drugs to provide them to White.
Carrey then made the drugs available to White knowing “full well” she was “prone to depression and had previously attempted to take her own life”, the complaint obtained by the Daily News states.
Jim Carrey, 54, is being sued for facilitating his makeup artist girlfriend Cathriona White’s suicide by her ex husband Mark Burton, according to Page Six. According to the complaint, Carrey had installed cameras in White’s home, and his assistant had checked on the home on September 24 and noticed that White had not left in more than a day but failed to notify authorities. She filed for divorce from Burton the December before her death.
Jim Carrey is being faced with some serious accusations following the death of his ex-girlfriend, Cathriona White.
Carrey criticized the media for publicizing the suicide note.
White and Carrey broke up the week before she died.
At the time of her autopsy, White was found with Ambient, Propranolol, and Percocet in her system.
Four of White’s friends found her body in her apartment after they hadn’t heard from her for several days. White overdosed on drugs allegedly purchased by “Arthur King”, aka Carrey. The coroner also reported finding a text on White’s phone from Carrey the night before she died, asking if she knew where certain painkillers prescribed to him went.
White’s estranged husband also believes that Carrey worked to cover up his involvement with her death.
Jim Carrey has not yet commented on the lawsuit that has been filed against him.

The lawsuit is seeking the funeral costs as well as real and punitive damages.
