Jim Clyburn: ‘My heart has been with Hillary Clinton since Day 1’
Former President Bill Clinton came out swinging against Sen.

Lacy Johnson, an IN super-delegate who endorsed Clinton, said, “They were saying “We’re not going to forget this”…” Bernie Sanders, her rival for the Democratic nomination.
Capital Public Radio’s Capitol Bureau Chief Ben Adler, who is in the Silver State to cover today’s events, reports that turnout will be an important factor in what could be a close race between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton.
Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are in a dead heat to win the Nevada caucuses, and both campaigns have launched last-minute efforts to win over voters – including Latino voters.
Sanders’ strategy is driven in part because Nevada Democrats allocate delegates to caucus winners based on congressional districts, giving greater weight to sparsely populated areas like Elko, where he campaigned Friday.
After the contests in Iowa and New Hampshire, Sanders has a 36-32 lead among delegates won in primaries and caucuses. “He wasn’t even a Democrat until he made a decision to run for president”, she said to boos from the audience.
The Clinton camp has been trying to dampen expectations for Nevada, with spokesperson Brian Fallon bizarrely claiming on MSNBC last week that 80% of voters in Nevada are white (it’s more like 60%) in an attempt to paint Sanders support as entirely monochromatic.
Neither candidate is pursuing a single-track strategy.
“This is a huge story”, MSBNC “Morning Joe” panelist Mike Barnacle said Thursday, referring to news reports that Clinton plans to depart Nevada for Houston Thursday evening for a fundraiser.
Back in November Alan Grayson agreed to join Hillary Clinton’s Florida Leadership Council, which team Clinton described as “a group of over 150 elected officials, community, coalition and grassroots leaders who will help build a grassroots-driven volunteer team that will help Hillary to win the Florida Primary on March 15th”. Yes, superdelegates can change their minds, but we all know they probably won’t.
“For some people that may be kind of boring, promise the moon, go after everybody, but for me that’s how you actually make a difference in people’s lives”, said Clinton, who later met with a family to discuss the state’s solar industry.
On Saturday, Nevada will become the first Western state and the third state in the country to hold a Democratic presidential nominating contesting this election year. “There’s been a lot of passion in this primary”, the ex-president said.
On Thursday, a national television network reported that the Democrat from SC would be endorsing Clinton ahead of the primary in the state on February.
There are 43 delegates at stake, but only about half of them, 23 candidates, are directly tied to the results of Saturday’s caucuses.
“My heart has always been with Hillary Clinton, but my head had me in a neutral corner”, he said at a news conference in Columbia.
